Democratic Women Evening Education: Politics and the Electoral Process 101

There is a new enthusiasm in understanding the political process and party structure, so please join us for a primer that will provide you with answers to pressing questions. We all know the Declaration of Independence and Constitution exist, but what is the difference and what rules did our Founding Fathers put in place regarding elections? Is the electoral process working as they intended? Why is it that members of our state and federal legislatures get into office and then never seem to leave? Why does the Electoral College supersede the popular vote? What role does the national census play in elections at the local, state and national level? And what is a Precinct and why do I need to be involved and where do we go from here?

All of these questions and more will be answered by the speakers at our February meetings.

 Speaker: TBD

Light snacks and beverages will be served.
