VOLUNTEER WITH US!
Committees are being formed in April. Read the committee descriptions below, then check out Mobilize for the dates of the virtual meetings - beginning April 15. If you miss the first meeting, that's ok! Let us know of your interest by signing up below.
The Field Organizing Committee implements the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts of the party. The committee assigns a leader or a team to implement the various efforts and train volunteers for canvassing (door knocking), literature drops, phone banking, text banking, sign placement, and rides to the polls.
The Events Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various events as well as identifying community events in which the FCDP will participate. The purpose of the committee is to ensure that events run smoothly, create positive experiences for attendees, and foster a sense of community.
The Volunteer Engagement Committee works with the Events Committee and Field Organizing Committee to recruit new and existing volunteers for activities and events, using Mobilize sign-ups and newsletters, and identifies an event captain to be responsible for the event. The committee is responsible for welcoming new volunteers as they sign up through our online form and getting them engaged with the party.
The Communications and Marketing Committee will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the online presence and engagement of the FCDP. The committee creates content for a variety of uses including social media platforms and party literature, such as door hangers, mailers, and candidate slate cards. This position requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for messaging that supports the party’s Strategic Plan and branding.
The Fundraising Committee develops and executes fundraising strategies to support the financial goals of our party. The committee identifies and cultivates relationships with potential donors, develops fundraising campaigns and events, maintains a donor database, and coordinates donor recognition efforts.
The poll greeter committee recruits, trains and schedules volunteers responsible for welcoming voters at polling places during elections and handing out Democratic candidate literature. Their main goal is to promote the Democratic Party slate and create a positive voting experience for everyone.
The committee recruits volunteers to work for the Forsyth County Board of Elections on Election Day as judges and election assistants. They recruit and train poll observers who volunteer to observe the voting process inside polling locations.
The Voter Registration Committee identifies voter registration opportunities and will build a program to follow up with newly registered voters.
