There will be elections in 2025 for the Forsyth County municipalities of Bethania, Clemmons, Kernersville, Lewisville, Rural Hall, Tobaccoville, and Walkertown. If you are interested in running for office, please contact Chair Jenny Marshall. The FCDP will offer introductory sessions for persons interesting in running for office and training classes for candidates. Let's get great candidates running for every open seat!
2025 Municipal Elections
The filing period runs from Monday, July 7, 2025 at 8am through Friday, July 18 at 12pm (Noon). See municipal positions up for election in 2025 and filing fees here.
Election Dates
In 2025, there are three municipal election dates in North Carolina:
1. Tuesday, September 9, 2025 (Partisan primary if necessary)
2. Tuesday, October 7, 2025 (Second partisan primary if one is requested, nonpartisan primary, or general election if using the election and runoff method): Various municipalities
3. Tuesday, November 4, 2025 (General Election

The candidate filing period for the 2026 primary election begins at noon on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 12pm (Noon) and ends on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 12pm.
