Here's what you can do right now to get Ready To Vote!
- Check your registration at IWillVote.com. Be sure all information is current and correct. You can view and download your sample ballot. While you are at it, check the voter registration of your family and friends and be sure it is correct, too.
- There are several ways you can register to vote or update your voter registration information. Visit our Voter Registration page and find out how!
- Ex-felons can register and vote in North Carolina Ask for your Certificate of Restoration of Forfeited Rights of Citizenship from your releasing officer (N.C. Gen. Stat. 13-2). This is not necessary to register or vote, but may make it easier should you encounter any problems.
Pick a voting method and make a plan
Vote during Early Voting from October 20 to November 5.
There are 12 voting sites throughout the county. You can vote at any of them. Click here for the Early Voting locations and schedule. If you need to register to vote or change your address, you must do it during Early Voting, as the deadline has passed to register or make changes and vote on Election Day.
Vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8 at your precinct polling location.
Polls are open from 6:30am - 7:30pm. Find your precinct polling location here. (Tip: leave out the hyphen in Winston-Salem or the address will not be found!)
Vote By Mail
Go to ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail and request your ballot using the online form or download and print the form. Deadline to request your mail-in ballot is November 1. Once you receive your ballot, fill it out in the presence of 2 witnesses or a notary public (they don't see how you vote, only that you complete the ballot), sign the ballot envelope and have the witnesses sign. Return the completed ballot to the FC Board of Elections as soon as possible. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by 5pm November 8 and received by November 11. In-person returns must be made by 5pm November 8.

Curbside Voting
If you are unable to enter a polling site due to age or physical or mental disability, you may vote from your vehicle. Each polling site has one or more parking spaces set aside for curbside voters.
If you are exhibiting symptoms of Covid or have a medical condition that puts you at risk for Covid, you may do curbside voting.
