Voter Registration
Three ways you can register to vote or update information on your registration:
1) Download and print a registration form, and mail or hand-deliver it to the Forsyth County Board of Elections in English / en Espanol

2) Online at the NC Department of Transportation website
If you have a NC driver's license or a non-operator ID card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, you can register or change your information online. Visit tinyurl.com/NConlinevoterreg.
3) Same day registration at any Early Voting site
You can register to vote or update your address - and vote at the same time - at any Early Voting site using "Same Day Registration". You cannot change your party affiliation at Early Voting. You will need to bring identification verifying your name and address. Any of the following documents with your name and current address are acceptable:
Remember that a photo ID is needed to vote during Early Voting, on Election Day, and voting by mail (a photocopy of the valid photo ID must be included with your mail-in ballot).

- Mail or hand-deliver it to Forsyth County Board of Elections, 201 N. Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
- It must be received by 5pm, October 11 for the November 5, 2024 General Election.

- North Carolina driver’s license.
- Other photo identification issued by a government agency. Any government-issued photo ID is acceptable, provided that the card includes the voter’s current name and address.
- A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document showing the voter’s name and address.
- A current college/university photo identification card paired with proof of campus habitation. For additional guidance on acceptable proof of residence for college students, visit Registering as a College Student: During Early Voting.
