The mission at the Forsyth County African American Caucus is to promote political participation and education within the African American community, encourage African Americans to seek public office, represent issues and concerns of its membership to the Democratic Party leadership, and work towards strengthening the Democratic Party.

Join us for the African American Caucus of Forsyth County’s Legends Ball as we honor two outstanding community leaders whose work, service, and legacy continue to strengthen Forsyth County.
We are proud to celebrate Dr. Virginia K. Newell, Local Legend & Pioneer, and Evelyn Terry, Living Legend, for their extraordinary contributions to our community.
The event will be held at the Maple Chase Golf and Country Club (5475 Germanton Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105)
on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Sponsors and VIP ticket holders are invited to join us at 6:00 PM for cocktails and a special welcome time.
Doors open for all guests at 7:00 PM, and our program will begin at 7:30pm. The evening will feature a seated dinner, program, and celebration of our two legendary leaders, followed by dancing and entertainment.
This inaugural event is the launch of the Caucus preparing to defend our rights at the ballot box in November.
